Exams and Cleanings

We recommend you visit us at least twice a year for dental cleanings and exams. Our expert hygienists provide gentle teeth cleaning services. Teeth cleaning is the removal of dental plaque and tartar from teeth to prevent cavities, gingivitis, and gum disease. At this visit, we will also perform a thorough oral exam and utilize digital x-rays to diagnose and monitor any dental issues. If any dental issues are identified, our doctors will thoroughly explain the concern, and help select the best treatment option for your individual needs..

Cavities and Fillings

Cavities are permanently damaged areas in the hard surface of your teeth that develop into tiny openings or holes. Cavities, also called tooth decay or caries, are caused by a combination of factors, including bacteria in your mouth, frequent snacking, sipping sugary drinks and not cleaning your teeth well. If left untreated, a cavity can destroy your tooth and kill nerves at its center. To treat a cavity, our doctors will remove the decayed portion of the tooth and then “fill” the area on the tooth where the decayed material once lived. Our doctors also use fillings to repair cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down from misuse (such as from nail-biting or tooth grinding).

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns and bridges are used to strengthen and protect your teeth as well as enhance your smile. Crowns are placed over your weakened or decayed tooth to prevent further damage. A bridge replaces a missing tooth by first placing crowns on either side of the missing tooth, and then securing a false crown in the middle gap to replace the missing tooth. Crowns and bridges are usually made out of porcelain or metal alloys. They are extremely durable and do not typically require additional maintenance outside of the recommended care for your own teeth

Dentures

Partial and complete dentures can be fabricated for patients who are missing many, or all of their teeth. Patients may have lost their teeth due to advanced periodontal disease or perhaps by weakened or decayed teeth. In most cases, if a patient’s diagnosis requires a full extraction, our doctors can place complete dentures at the same appointment, so the patient never has to go without teeth. If a patient is missing only a few teeth, our doctors can fabricate removable partial dentures to replace only those missing teeth. There are many styles of partial dentures, and we will determine which is the best option for you.

Implants

Our doctors offer implant crowns and bridges to replace missing teeth and restore the function of your smile. We also offer implant retained dentures.

Bonding

Bonding is a simple, non-invasive dental procedure our doctors use to close small spaces between teeth or to improve the color of certain teeth

Invisalign

Invisalign, a form of Orthodontics, is an alternative treatment to braces, and is used to straighten teeth, bring your bite into alignment, and improve both the appearance and function of your teeth. Crowded, crooked or protruding teeth are more difficult to keep clean and are vulnerable to gum disease as you age. Invisalign’s virtually invisible aligners, which are made of a unique thermoplastic material, are similar to teeth-whitening trays. Our doctors will create a series of Invisalign aligners according to a unique sequence customized for you. These aligners apply gentle pressure to move teeth into the desired position. Treatment may take anywhere from several months to a couple of years, depending on the nature and severity of the problem.

Veneers

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic material, which are bonded to the front of a tooth with very strong resin cement. This procedure can be the ideal choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth. Porcelain veneers are also placed to mask discolored teeth or change the shape and appearance of crooked or chipped teeth. Our doctors are excited to help you improve your smile and your confidence by customizing veneers for you!

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal therapy treats gum infections caused by the bacteria in plaque. Gum disease, otherwise known as periodontal disease, attacks the bone, ligaments and gums that support your teeth. Early symptoms are red, puffy gums that bleed when brushed or flossed. You may also experience a bad odor or taste in your mouth. As infection progresses, space may appear between the teeth, gums may recede and teeth will loosen. Without treatment, periodontal disease leads to tooth loss.
Fortunately, with early diagnosis, our team can successfully treat periodontal disease at almost any stage. We will effectively assess, treat and recommend the proper professional and at home care for each of our patients. Through proper treatment, gum health can be restored and tooth loss can be prevented.

Nitrous Oxide

At Deer Creek Dental, we understand that receiving dental work can be stressful at times. We strive to make your experience as easy and comfortable as possible. One way we do this is by offering patients the option to use Nitrous Oxide during certain procedures. Nitrous Oxide, also known as “laughing gas,” is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen. It is inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose, and it helps you relax. It is not intended to put you to sleep. While taking Nitrous Oxide, you will be able to hear and respond to any requests or directions the dentist may have. Ultimately, you should feel calm and comfortable. The effects of nitrous oxide wear off soon after the mask is removed.

Whitening

We offer a home bleaching system that gives our patients a whiter, brighter smile. We begin by taking impressions of the patients’ teeth and then fabricate very thin plastic ‘trays’ into which the bleach is dispensed.

Children's Dentistry

We offer general dental services for kids, toddlers and teens. We strive to provide the best treatment to ensure every little patient feels comfortable throughout the process.

Endodontics

If a tooth is damaged by decay or injury, the canals inside the root of the tooth may become infected. If the infection is not treated, it can lead to severe pain, abscess and tooth loss. Fortunately, our doctors can remove the infection from the tooth, which will restore the tooth to normal function, in most cases. This treatment is also known as a root canal.
